Kolam also known as Rangoli, is a dainty floor painting, which is an integral part of South Indian tradition. It is a beautiful and perhaps the only one art, drawn every day by women in the households. It symbolizes beauty and provides a welcoming environment.

Thank you for visiting my site and your comments. I have already posted some small kolams and for beginners also. I will post more kolams with less number of dots.
Thats a beautiful Kolam.I myself a South Asian, but i havent heard much of this art,but remember watching it in Indan dramas. How did you learn Kolam?& how long have you been doing it?
Welcome to my site. Kolam is practiced by all the girls from their childhood. It is learnt from elders from the family. Unlike other arts, it can be easily practiced by following simple mathamatical patterns. If we know some basic drawing, then we can draw so many patterns (free hand style). Like others, I also learnt this art from my elders and I am drawing kolam from my childhood. I used to draw all the kolams first in a note book and now I have an opportunity to put my collection online.
