Kolam also known as Rangoli, is a dainty floor painting, which is an integral part of South Indian tradition. It is a beautiful and perhaps the only one art, drawn every day by women in the households. It symbolizes beauty and provides a welcoming environment.

Ujjain Rangoli
When I visited Omkareshwarar Temple at Ujjain, I find little girls draw beautiful rangolies in front of each and every shop near the temple. Following are some of the rangoli photos I have taken at Ujjain:
There is no difference between normal rangoli and ujjain rangoli. All these kolams are drawn in Ujjain streets and photographed by me when I visited there.
thanks for letting me know that.. because recently i have heard that there is a kind of rangoli called "poona rangoli" .. so i thot even this is another kind of rangoli...
I appreciate your work in putting these kolams online.. Yours is one of the most organised websites for kolams on the net..
