Kolam also known as Rangoli, is a dainty floor painting, which is an integral part of South Indian tradition. It is a beautiful and perhaps the only one art, drawn every day by women in the households. It symbolizes beauty and provides a welcoming environment.
Kolam No.320
9 - 5 interlaced dots (Idukku Pulli) Kolam.
Start with 9 dots in the center and stop at 5 by putting interlaced dots at both sides as shown above.
Join the dots as shown above and erase the remaining dots. Fill with desired colour powders.
This is absolutely gorgeous! You are so talented and are doing such a service to the community by keeping this art alive. I regularly try out different designs from your site in addition to my own. Thanks, Mala
When we buy the colour powder in the shop, it is very fine. You have to add the white Kola powder and mix it well to get flowing texture. You can fill up by hand or by using the tea strainer. Put the colour powder into the tea strainer and gently shake over the portion of the kolam. After colouring the kolam, you can again draw the white lines. Matching the colours are one's own like and desire.
