14 - 3 interlaced dots (Idukku Pulli) Kolam.


Put dots as shown above.



Join dots as shown above. Leave this kolam as it is or fill with colour powders. I purposely left some parts without colouring. This will look beautiful when you draw in the floor.

Pongal Celebration

One of my Pongal Kolangal,  was drawn by Ms Saraswathy Iyer, reader of my Kolam blog, on the Pongal Occassion.  I am grateful to her for sending her Kolam.

Above Kolam was drawn at a Park in Anna Nagar on account of Pongal Celebration.

19 - 1 parallel dots (Neer Pulli) Kolam.


Put 19 dots in the center - leave one dot at both ends and put dots at both sides and stop at 1 dot as shown above.


Join dots as shown above and erase the visible dots. Or join dots as shown above and join the remaining dots as shown below and complete with outer lines. Fill with desired colour powders.

20 - 12 parallel dots (Neer Pulli) Kolam.



Put 20 dots - 12 lines. Then leave four dots at both ends and put four lines. Join dots as shown above and erase the visible dots. Fill with desired colour powders.

15 - 8 interlaced dots (Idukku Pulli) Kolam.


Start with 15 dots in the center and stop at 8 by putting interlaced dots at both sides. Join dots as shown above and fill with desired colour powders.

11 - 6 interlaced dots (Idukku Pulli) Kolam.


Start with 11 dots in the center and stop at 6 by putting interlaced dots at both sides as shown above.



Join dots and draw outer lines and put some flower designs in between as shown above. Erase the visible dots and draw thick lines. Fill with desired colour powders.

16 - 16 parallel dots (Neer Pulli) Kolam.


Put 16 parallel dots (Neer Pulli) - 16 lines. First put the sikku kolam as shown above.

Then join dots in the middle as shown above. Fill with desired colour powders. You can leave the design as it is OR put extra 4 and 2 dots at all the sides and join the dots as shown in the first picture.

17 - 7 parallel dots (Neer Pulli) Kolam.


Put 17 dots - seven lines in the center - leave one dot at both ends and put one line at both sides and stop at 7 as shown above.


Join dots as shown above and erase the visible dots. Fill with desired colour powders.

14 - 2 parallel dots (Neer Pulli) Kolam.


Put 14 dots - two lines in the center - leave one dot at both ends and put one line at both sides and stop at 2 as shown above.



Join dots as shown above. Erase the remaining dots and draw thick lines. Fill with desired colour powders.
